Minister

Minister

Breda Ludik was born in South Africa and grew up in a farming community in the southeast of the country. He is married to Francé, who is a music teacher. They have a son and two daughters, as well as two little grandsons, back in South Africa. Breda has a wide range of interests, ranging from art, literature and music to sport – especially rugby – cricket, tennis and golf. After a long and enjoyable ministry in the Dutch Reformed Church he felt called to return to the country of his mother’s ancestors and minister in the Church of Scotland. Ending up in SALU feels like a homecoming for him, even with the constraints on resuming the full extent of pastoral practices. He is excited about the prospect of entering more deeply into the desired future God has for the congregation and its members. He also looks forward to serving the community in which God has placed them. He enjoys plumbing the depths of the Bible and collaborating in ministry.

A standout verse in the Bible for him: “May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.” (Psalm 19:14)
