Holiday Club

✨ Good News from Lhanbryde: Navigate Holiday Club Sparks Joy, Faith and  Friendship

This summer, Lhanbryde Community Centre was filled with laughter, learning and lively adventure during five vibrant mornings of Navigate – a holiday club  designed to help children journey through biblical truths in fun and meaningful  ways.

Set against the imaginative backdrop of Blue Rock National Park, participants  explored themes of creation, resurrection and heaven – anchored by the  central truth of Jesus as our guide and rescuer, always ready to lead us home.

Grown from a Heartfelt Vision

The idea grew from Active Church conversations about sharing God’s love to  young people during the summer holidays. With creative input from Out of the  Box Productions and the passionate leadership of Chris Watt, this became a  joyful fusion of imagination, storytelling and community care.

Participation Snapshot

⎯ 23 primary-age children attended

⎯ 17 adult volunteers got totally involved in helping deliver the  programme

⎯ 3 teen helpers supported with enthusiasm

⎯ 9 preschool children joined with their families on the final morning,  welcomed by an Active Church mum who shaped their activities with  imagination and energy

⎯ A community lunch wrapped up the week – full of laughter, stories and  warm connections around the table

Exploring with Wonder

Children explored life’s challenges and joys through a mix of storytelling,  puppetry, crafts, videos, group discussions, songs and interactive games. A  video story featuring a poorly prepared hiker lost in the Highlands, helped

bring alive the theme of being ‘lost and found’ – and the need to trust in Jesus  to rescue us. The youngsters were encouraged to explore how prayer, the  Bible and church help navigate life’s journey.

A Journey That Continues

Families were invited to deepen connections through Active Church and  Connect Services, ongoing gatherings where community, faith and fun  continue to grow.

Made Possible by Generosity

We’re deeply grateful to the Church of Scotland Seeds for Growth and the  Methodist Church, whose support helped us plant seeds of hope and  belonging that will grow far beyond this week.

Lasting Ripples

More than just a holiday club, Navigate created space for hearts to connect – children discovering their place in God’s story, leaders stepping out in faith and  the SALU community being reminded that we are not alone on the journey.
