Getting Involved

Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, so it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.  Romans 12:4-5

We have many opportunities for volunteering in the church and the wider community at large.  If interested please fill in the form below or speak to the minister.

The Guild

TOFM (Together On Friday Mornings) For fun, friendship and faith, TOFM is the place to be if you are female! ... The group started in 1994 with a monthly coffee morning. Very quickly, because of numbers, interest and enthusiasm, we began to meet twice a month and then, by request, weekly.

From September to June the programme follows a four-week cycle, meeting from 10 to 11.30 am at various venues.

Week one is ‘Coffee and Chat’, meeting in the homes of many of the group, or in church halls or local restaurants.

On week two it’s ‘Well-being’ (for all ages and physical abilities!) where we meet in the church hall.

‘Share It’ is what we call week three! Many valued and inspirational banners have been made. Favourite poems, texts from Scripture, skills, unusual holidays, writings, drama . . . and much more have been ‘shared’ over the years. We always meet at St Margaret’s Hall on week three.

Week four is when we study and discuss our faith. We have explored many passages from our bible, discussed ‘words of Jesus’, the importance of women in Christ’s ministry, books such as ‘Made for Goodness’ by Desmond Tutu, and at present we are studying The Lord’s Prayer. We always meet in one of the homes of one of the girls.

And there’s more! We have fun sharing a picnic lunch on the fourth Friday in June . . . watch this space for the venue. (One of our favourite places is the Blackhills Estate!)

Finally – for now – a highlight (mind you all our ‘togethernesses’ are highlights!!) is our time at Kincraig. Every September, since 1999, we have spent three days at the wonderful Cairngorm Christian Centre – very special! We talk, eat, laugh, discuss, play games, walk, pray, explore (get lost!) and, in fact, do whatever each person wants to do.

In all our togetherness love and laughter, food and faith, listening and learning, fun and friendship are there . . . it just seems to happen!
We are a group from various backgrounds, denominations and churches; all are welcome. Please join us! Bring a friend!
